It's fantastic to see so many countries represented by the panel! (It's almost like a Winter Olympics of medicine!) I look forward to learning new insights on how training differs across the globe, but secretly suspect that there will be a lot that is universal. Thank you to all for participating.
To start with, what is the path by which people become full-fledged, independently practicing doctors where you trained? (...do people go straight into medical school following secondary school/high school? ...how many years of training are required? ...and with next week's deadline for ranking training programs for the US National Residency Matching Program on the mind of final-year medical students in the United States, how do you get into a training program in your respective country?)
We can certainly dive into particular aspects as we go along and get more questions!
