When we think of partnership in patient care, we often start with those that are immediately around us: other healthcare-related professions such as nursing, pharmacy, social work, etc. We often don't think of business administrators, lawyers, policy makers, engineers, or innovators / entrepreneurs, yet these professions contribute greatly to how, when, and what our patients can access in terms of healthcare. How should we as resident physicians partner with those "outside" of healthcare to bring the most effective care models, policies, and technologies to our patients?
