Question special

As physicians our training begins long before residency while we are still in school, as it does for other professions on our teams (nursing, pharmacy, social work, etc.). It is during these years that many of us may be indoctrinated with the attitudes and behaviors that isolate us from understanding the roles of other teammates. As students, we tend to learn in only medical student, only nursing student, only pharmacy student, etc. packs. How can we bring what we will use long term in our careers (interdisciplinary understanding) into the educational setting at an early stage (i.e. even during didactic years)? Is there any opportunity to cross-train or have specifically tailored observational encounters, where we can step into others' shoes early on?
