Thanks to the authors and experts for their thoughtful answers to the questions so far. This really is a well-designed and definitive study of oxygen therapy that shows we are providing no benefit in its provision to normoxic patients.

As the authors discuss, the AVOID study and other data previously suggested that there may be harm in providing oxygen to STEMI patients, but no harm was identified here in the population of patients with suspected AMI or in a subgroup analysis of the ~40% STEMI patients (Figure S1.) This study is better powered to assess the effect of oxygen in the STEMI subgroup than the AVOID study was, but is the STEMI subgroup here large enough to make a definitive statement about the potential harm of oxygen therapy in acute coronary occlusion versus ACS overall?
