Jeff Goldsmith wrote in the Health Care Blog (thehealthcareblog.com/blog/201...) about his experience with the health care system following a cancer diagnosis. He points out that neither the left or the right view on super utilizers was his experience --- it was hard to shop for care and he didn't see wasteful spending by doctors. The portrayal of these issues as right and left political issues struck me as unusual. Is there no bipartisan agreement on why health care costs are high for super utilizers? Has this become politicized?
