Dr. Brewer commented on how there is no best practice for addressing concerns, hesitancy and refusal, especially in the setting of limited time during visits.

Few studies have targeted physician-patient communication training as a means to decrease vaccination refusal. Though physicians can affect caregivers' attitudes toward vaccination, physicians report uneasiness discussing vaccine hesitancy. A recent study in Academic Pediatrics by Real FJ et al. (2017), showed that an immersive virtual reality curriculum for pediatric residents may be an effective modality. From a medical education standpoint, should this be incorporated as a ABP learning objective?
