What would total transparency look like, and what impact would that have on institutions and their willingness to act? If you take suicide as an example, what if there was an open-access wiki site that allowed medical students, residents, even undergrad students to report when there was a suicide on their campus, without any details or identifying information? Some might say that this could trigger others to feel depressed or commit suicide. On the other hand, students might feel liberated knowing that they're not alone, and that it's something that can be openly addressed. It could certainly motivate schools of higher ed to acknowledge this problem and intervene.
