Hi, everyone! I'm looking forward to spending the next 10 days chatting with you and our phenomenal panel of experts.
Health care costs are an issue we confront across practice and policy. From individual patients to national spending, the cost of care is something that touches all of us. You may have seen the Commonwealth Fund graph below, which shows that health care consumes a growing share of GDP across OECD countries - and the US is a significant outlier. We need all hands on deck to figure out how to change our trajectory.
In the coming days, we'll delve into detail on drivers of spending and opportunities for controlling costs. I encourage you to share your insights and questions. Today, we'll start off with a broad question, to get a sense of the diversity - and possibility! - of our topic:
What cost saving strategy (program or policy) are you most intrigued by at the moment?
