Today, I was reviewing the articles under the resources tab of this forum. The studies examine racial differences in expenditures at the EOL, hospitalizations at the EOL, beliefs about life expectancy among patients with advanced cancer, tube feeding, and use of supportive medications among cancer patients. I am wondering about what research is needed going forward. What are the most important gaps in our knowledge about racial and ethnic disparities in EOL care? Going forward, what research is needed to reduce disparities and improve EOL care for racial and ethnic minorities?
