I think most people understand "political activism" and can think of ways physicians can be active there (testimony, advising on laws, etc) but physician advocacy can feel broader - advocating for your individual patient, advocating to change a system at your hospital, working with a coalition to pass a law. Mark and colleagues published a great definition in academic medicine but are there others?
