Previous pilot studies have used FUS treatment for patients with severe, medication-refractory essential tremor. This study included patients with essential tremors that were moderate to severe. Did the authors find a difference in FUS efficacy or the side effect profile in patients with moderate versus severe tremors?

In addition, as FUS technology advances and treatment improves, can the authors and experts potentially see the use of FUS as a preventative measure for patients with mild essential tremors? Or would the costs of the procedure outweigh the benefits for these patients?
