Hi all, I am a resident from Australia, so 2nd yr out of medschool.
It seems as though both big interests of mine: physicians training/cardiology and health systems - are 150% all-in type career paths.
Both are strong enough interests to not want to give up one over the other at this stage, but I wonder if its realistic to want to pursue both?
My interest in health systems are less tangibly defined, but I find the influencing forces of health outcomes beyond an individual's health-habits fascinating, whether that be as immediate as the culture of the treating team, the funding structures of the hospital, the flow of the health system, or wider determinants of health beyond that silo. I am currently completing a Masters in Health Policy part time to learn about this further.
