Today's question is focused around immunological changes in study participants whose allergy outcome changed between months 60 and 72 (after the 5 + 1 years).
From the manuscript: "...four LEAP avoiders who were allergic at month 60 lost their allergic status by month 72. Their skin-prick test wheal size decline while other immunological parameters remained stable (Fig. 3 and Table S6b in the Supplementary Appendix)."
This is an interesting phenomenon. In total, six participants became allergic between months 60-72, but the opposite occurred in the four above. Is this just reflective of normal allergy development or could there be something more happening here?
