This is a very important study with an interesting outcome--I had fully expected this to be a negative trial given prior evidence from smaller studies. I'd be interested in the authors other experts' opinions as to whether patients with controlled diabetes, history of MRSA infection, or those with groin or facial abscesses, and systemic symptoms such as fever would be considered uncomplicated infections in community practice? Since host as well as pathogen factors may play an important role in healing, would higher risk subgroups have been more likely to benefit from antibiotics in this general population of patients?
