In the previous question, we considered how the option of on-demand PrEP might affect acceptability in people not yet on PrEP. Let us consider now how the concept of on-demand PrEP might affect adherence in people already using PrEP. As some of you have mentioned, your patients still prefer daily PrEP because it's simpler or because it would be more effective. Over time as knowledge about on-demand (or non-daily) PrEP improves and spreads, how do you think adherence might change in current PrEP users? One could imagine that some daily PrEP users could opt for a non-daily regimen instead, some would feel less fear about missing doses occasionally, some might even become more likely to miss doses. Are there benefits to current PrEP users from this knowledge? Are there risks?
