Hi everyone! I'd first like to thank all of the authors and experts for their participation in this forum. We will be discussing the article titled "A Multicenter Trial of Remote Ischemic Preconditioning for Heart Surgery" over the next week. Without further ado, I will start off with a broader question for the first day:
This study was a prospective, double-blind, and randomized controlled trial that took place at 14 German university hospitals. Given the significant data size and power of the study, how are results from a study like this usually treated or regarded by clinicians and healthcare professionals? What can be used or learned from the conclusions of this study?
