To piggyback off of Dr. Jaquiss's last point, surgeons are under increased individual scrutiny. Outcomes are more frequently measured and increasingly public. As such, consider these two questions:
(1) Should individual surgeons be required to measure their post-call outcomes?
(2) What are her professional responsibilities, if a surgeon notices her outcomes are worse whenever she's post-call? Consider options other than strictly not operating post-call.
