Many pre-medical students obtain a Master’s degree to boost their application for medical school. Some students choose to obtain their degree during their medical education as it often saves time and money. Many mid-career physicians decide to obtain a supplemental degree after years of clinical practice.
Are there synergistic advantages to pursuing a dual degree earlier in your career, such as during medical school or residency? What tradeoffs should be considered in this decision-making process?
Does timing vary depending on the type of degree pursued (MPH, MBA, MEd, MPP, etc)?
