Day 3: From many of your responses, the consensus is that bystander CPR saves lives. Will there still be people that would debate the value of bystander CPR considering the Early CPR paper? The paper is looking at the value of bystander CPR prior to EMS arrival, but the authors note that we are still lacking a randomized controlled trial showing bystander CPR in itself has a positive effect on meaningful outcomes. Are there better outcome measures to appropriately assess the effectiveness of interventions in OHCA than 30 day survival or cerebral function at hospital discharge?
