In the paper, “ Climate Change and the Practice of Medicine: Essentials for Resident Education”, Dr. Bernstein et al. propose a climate and health curricular framework for medical residents linked to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) core competencies. My question is, how can this curriculum be effectively implemented without contributing to resident burnout (one paper estimates that up to 76% of internal medicine residents report experiencing burnout at least once during residency training)? A follow-up question is how can this curriculum be adapted for physicians in training in the surgical sub-specialties?
