Happy day 8 everyone! We will be discussing the topic of effective ways to make institutions anti-racist.
Frequently, in issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the persons who most often champion and invest in this cause are minorities themselves. How do we create buy-in from those who do not identify as minorities in medicine to galvanize and invest in issues of social justice, racism, and bias in medicine? How do we imbue in our trainees and fellow physicians the belief that knowledge of these issues is as core to being a physician as an understanding of the pathophysiology of diabetes or identifying a cardiac murmur?
