Hello all,

Thank you to the moderators and experts for an enlightening discussion on health care disparities yesterday; answering “why?” has set a good foundation for today’s discussion. Today, as we focus on exploring Effective ways to care for Black and minority patients, I think it’s worth analyzing the current state of care available to these populations. Systemic racism and pervasive inequities have fostered bias, which, as we know, is a significant contributor to the quality of care delivered. Addressing and eradicating bias is an excellent place to begin. However, several other factors create unique care needs for Black and minority patients. I would love to hear thoughts from our experts on how we can define effective care for Black and minority patients? Also, what interventions can we employ to ensure culturally competent and equitable healthcare delivery, and what metrics can help us measure their effectiveness?
