Day 2 Topic: Need for inclusion of trainees living with a health condition, disability, or illness

How can we reduce the massive barriers of accessibility to entering the medical field (shadowing, accommodations, research, healthcare access, etc) for premedical students from low socioeconomic status backgrounds that have health conditions, disabilities, and/or illnesses? What resources are out there for low SES disabled students, for example, who do not have ample documentation of disabilities because they could not afford the medical care or evaluations necessary for accommodations?
