Question special
Trainee ST 1-3

Thank you for your answers so far and the stimulating discussions. This is a really great educational opportunity for us. This was a really interesting paper, focusing on a very important issue. As a trainee we are always taught in journal club to consider conflicts of interest when interpreting and contextualising results of research studies. I noticed the authors have declared their conflicts of interest; in particular the study was funded by a pharmaceutical company, the authors are employees of the pharmaceutical company, and the data were also analysed by statisticians from the pharmaceutical company. Furthermore, I noticed the data sharing statement declared that the data collected for the study will not be available to others. I wondered whether you could please reassure the readers regarding potential bias in your findings?
