Acknowledging the still many unknowns noted by Drs. Correa and Jackson, what metrics might become more important for evaluating students for away rotations in the era of pass/fail preclinical coursework and Step 1 reporting, given that away rotation program directors will not typically have access to Step 2 scores? And how might students best succeed with respect to these metrics, for example, given the relative subjectivity in clerkship grading for the M3 year?
