The sample of pts in DAPA HF trial had mean BMI 28, SBP 120 AND mean GFR 66 and most well maintained on Background therapy.
In comparison our pt population here in Baltimore with HF is either obese or HTN or have CKD sage 3 or more and compliance is also a barrier. It would have been a challenge somewhat if we had to recruit pts here in our center.
It is understandable that its' important to set some parameters for pt recruitment to match the control group as much as possible to intervention arm but how does this 'sample' selection criteria effect 'population' generalizability.
