As indications for IVC filters are contentious, where do the authors see role of IVC filters?

There are a few limited cases where I could find strong support for caval filters. The most common case being IVC filters in patients with thromboembolism and who have an absolute contraindication to therapeutic anticoagulation (i.e. intracranial haemorrhage). I would be very interested to hear about other indications, such as failed anticoagulation, the authors thought were clinically indicated.
