I also noticed that recently the USPSTF guidelines have been updated to include HPV testing as a part of the cervical cancer screening, but this is recommended in women aged 30 years and above. I understand that the addition of HPV testing means that testing interval can be increased to 5 years. Are there any additional benefits? And also, why is HPV testing not recommended in women younger than 30 years? Is it to do with the vaccination use?
