Question normal

Dear Dr. Jain,
I also congratulate you on your new job.

I am writing to follow up on your JAMA article from a few years ago: “Are Patients Knights, Knaves or Pawns.” Do you think that patient demographic and social factors have a large impact on how our systems respond to them as knights, knaves or pawns? If so, has this changed much over the past few years for the health systems shifting from volume to value?

In short, are innovations in care becoming more connected to the motivations of patients toward better health?
