Question special
Chief Resident

I would like to break down the article into PICO (Patient Population, Intervention, Control, Outcome) format.

P: Adult patients acutely admitted to the ICU with one or more risk factors for GI bleeding
I : 40 mg Pantoprazole IV
C : Placebo
O : Primary outcome- Mortality at 90 days. Secondary outcomes- Clinically significant GI bleed, Pneumonia, C.difficile infection and Myocardial Ischemia

We would like to hear everyone’s thoughts on the same and how does it compare to prior studies done on the subject?
