So I plan on doing some electives during my intern year in the USA and I am facing this issue in deciding what institutes to go to.
I am aware that it is preferable and probably recommended to do rotations in the field you want in the hospital you would like to become a resident; that is clear to me.
My issue is with places that may not be considered IMG friendly residency programs (despite them taking IMG students for electives), but are well known institutes. (e.g Harvard, Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, Mount Sinai, etc...)
Is it worth going to these institutes for the experience and for the letter of recommendation, or should I, as an IMG, be focusing on attending electives in institutes that are considered IMG friendly in residency since there is a bigger chance of me being accepted into their program.
Hoping you can shed some light on this issue,
