Welcome to the "ask the experts" discussion in gastroenterology! Kenneth and I are both Internal Medicine residents at Brigham and Women's Hospital with plans to pursue careers in GI. We're thrilled to be moderating this discussion.

We're happy to see that there are already questions on the discussion board! We'd like to throw out another question to keep the conversation going:

Several medications, including isotretinoin and more recently DDP4 inhibitors, have been associated with an increased risk of inflammatory bowel disease. Do these associations make sense from a mechanistic standpoint? Do any of these potential associations affect your clinical practice in patients with IBD and their relatives?
