President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act (ACA) into law March 23, 2010, after it narrowly passed in Congress. Since its rocky start, its path has been anything but smooth, from the troubled rollout of the HealthCare.gov website to multiple Supreme Court challenges. But the ACA has provided insurance coverage to millions of Americans who were without it. Nonetheless, seven years later, problems continue. Nineteen states have not expanded Medicaid coverage. Premiums are rising in many parts of the country and Republican legislators continue to work to repeal and replace Obamacare. The House has already passed a bill that the Congressional Budget Office projects will result in 24 million fewer people insured and a deficit cut of $337 billion over the next 10 years. The Senate effort is currently stalled and the future is far from certain. Join health policy experts to have your questions about the current health care landscape answered and to discuss the future of health care reform in America and how that impacts our ability to care for our patients.
