Ricardo Correa, MD, Es. D, FAPCR, FACE, CMQ is the fellowship director for the endocrinology, diabetes and metabolims program at University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, assistant professor of medicine for UACOMP, Mayo College of Medicine and Creighton University SOM. He is part of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the University and researcher in this area. Also he is editor of Dynamed and outreach unit director of Endotext.org and Thyroid manager.
He completed his Medical School and Education Master at University of Panama. He completed a research fellowship in Epidemiology and Tropical disease at ICGES in Panama city. He completed his internal medicine residency at Jackson Memorial hospital-University of Miami program and during his residency he was instructor of Medicine for the UM. In 2012, he was honored with the AOA from the UM. He completed his clinical and research fellowship in endocrinology with special focus in neuroendocrinology and National Institute of Health
He was trained in EBM at McMaster University in Canada and in Editorial process and OJS by LATINDEX. He is co-director of the Panamanian Cochrane Center and EBM advocate.
Dr. Correa has been involved in organized medicine since medical school. He has been president of the Latin American Medical Student Association (FELSOCEM), scientific committee chair and vice speaker for the AMA RFS, chair of the CoA for the ACP FC, Board of Trustee of the Maryland Medical Society, National Secretary of the CoA for the NHMA, Regional Vice President of the CIR, Medical Education Officer of JDN-WMA. He has been involve with local, regional and national organization in the area of medical education, leadership and physician wellbeing including the AMA joy in medicine organization, ACGME at different level including the duty hour task force, NBME as part of the board, NBPAS and other organization.
Dr. Correa has been involved in multiple academic, scientific and educational activities including article Consultant, Interpretation of the Medical Literature Project, NBME, International Committee member of the Committee on publications ethics (COPE), World Association of Medical Editors, Deputy Editor of International Archives of Medicine, Editorial board and peer reviewer of multiple journals including Annals of Public Health, PAHO journal, SGIM journal, “Archivos de Medicine”, Pediatric care, International Journal of Endocrinology, International Journal of Diabetes, International Journal of Clinical Cases and Images, International journal of case reports, etc. Also he is consultant for Latinamerican science center including Bolivia and Panama national science department.
He is board certified in Medical Quality. He is the author of the book title “Case report: basics and publication”. His research is focus on neuroendocrinology mainly on pituitary and adrenal tumor and new genetic mutations.
I completed medical school at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (formerly Jefferson Medical College) in Philadelphia, PA and my residency training in Internal Medicine at George Washington University Hospital in DC. I then went on to compete a 1-year fellowship in Medical Education, also at GW and am currently practiting as a hospitalist in DC. Specific topics of interest include the development of hospitalists and residents as clinician-educators, mentorship in medical education, and the role of literature/the humanities in medicine.
I am a hospitalist at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. I am also a medical liaison at Jefferson's Digital Innovation and Consumer Experience (DICE) group that is focused on bridging the gap between clinical medicine and innovation.C I have a strong interest in innovation and leadership in the field of medicine. In the pursuit of these interests, I have held multiple leadership positions such as President of Jefferson's Student Council and CEO of the Community of Health & Innovation Professionals (CHiP) to name a couple, where the sole mission was to revolutionize the medical field for both physicians and their patients. Other interests include being captain of Jefferson's flag football team, Wing Chun kung fu, cooking, and playing bass guitar in a local band. Very interested in networking with anyone who would like to help foster and develop ideas or projects for a better tomorrow, whether that be innovating inside the field of medicine or the individuals affected by it.
Dr. Noronha was born and raised in Rochester, NY. He attended Boston University for his undergraduate and medical school training. He stayed at Boston University for his internal medicine residency and chief residency. After chief residency he accepted a position at Boston Medical Center as a medical educator splitting his inpatient time between primary care and inpatient ward attending. Dr. Noronha was the director medicine consult service including being the clinic director for the Boston Medical Center Pre-procedure clinic for several years. Dr. Noronha is currently an associate program director for the Internal Medicine Residency at Boston University School of Medicine. He has served on Association for Program Directors in Internal Medicine E-Learning and Communication Committees. Dr. Noronha is the Director for Quality Improvement Education at Boston Medical Center. He directs the quality improvement curriculum for the residency and leads the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) pathway. He also directed the ambulatory curriculum for the residency program.
Dr. Noronha’s academic work focuses on career preparation, residency scheduling and quality improvement. He has presented several national workshops on subjects including fellowship and job preparation, trainee professionalism, ambulatory curriculum, and residency scheduling systems. Dr. Noronha acts as a mentor for medical students and residents. While he has a great appreciation for academic medicine, he believes strongly that each trainee should choose a career path that best fits with their individual values and goals. He takes pride in seeing his mentees move on to a variety of fields and areas of practice.
In his free time Dr. Noronha enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 young daughters. He is an amateur aquarium enthusiast, enjoys exercising, and is still an avid Buffalo Bills fan despite decades of futility.
Dr. Bhatnagar is currently a PGY-3 resident in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He is a graduate of the University of Utah School of Medicine. Current interests include medical education, education through simulation training, and critical care medicine.
Dr. Nichole Taylor, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Wake Forest School of Medicine, and former Associate Anesthesiology Residency Program Director at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. As a physician living with Multiple Sclerosis, she shifted her career from clinical practice to advocacy, advising, teaching, and administration. She has over a decade of experience supervising residents and mentoring medical students in career planning, specialty selection, and residency application. Through her knowledge of both Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) and Graduate Medical Education (GME), she is experienced in assisting all students in a smooth transition from UME to GME. She is the co-author of 4 recent book chapters in Disability as Diversity (2020, Springer Publishing Company) and Disability as Diversity: A Case Studies Companion Guide (2020, Springer Publishing Company). She recently co-authored a publication entitled, Realizing a Diverse and Inclusive Workforce: Equal Access for Residents with Disabilities in the Journal of Graduate Medical Education, Oct. 2019. She is an advocate for diversity, inclusion, and awareness of disability in the realm of health science and medical education.
