Dr. Prokesch is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. After a brief hiatus in Connecticut, where she completed her undergraduate degree in government and then taught kindergarten for a year after graduating college, she returned to Atlanta for medical school and an internal medicine residency at Emory University. She completed her infectious diseases fellowship at UTSW and then returned to Atlanta where she worked in private practice for a couple of years prior to returning to UTSW to join the faculty in 2016.
Dr. Sreeramoju is an Associate Professor of Medicine-Infectious Diseases at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is passionate about improving healthcare delivery through improving the reliability of care as well as using innovative methods. She has previously served as Medical Director Clinical Finance at UT Southwestern, Chief of Infection Prevention at Parkland Health and Hospital System, and Medical Director of Infection Control at UT Health San Antonio. She received formal training in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and epidemiology and healthcare organizational leadership. She has been recognized at UT Southwestern for mentoring, teaching and research. She has been named as one of the ‘Top 50 leaders in Patient Safety in 2015’ by Becker’s Hospital Review, and she was the recipient of Judene Bartley Award for Public Policy and Advocacy jointly awarded by the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology in 2015. She is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. She is the lead editor of book, "The Patient and Health Care System: Perspectives on High-Quality Care." She is also an active blogger.
