Dr. Koo is an academic hospitalist and is board certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. He is an attending physician on the General Medicine and Gastrointestinal Oncology Services and provides consultations on the Palliative Medicine Service. He is also the Director of Medical Student Education within the Department of Medicine at Weil Cornell Medical College and a core facult member for the Transitional Year Residency Program. His academic interests include incorporating evidence-based medicine into individual patient care and clinical decision making in advanced cancer and serious illness.
Dr. Deborah Korenstein is a general internist, clinician-educator and health services researcher and the Director of Clinical Effectiveness at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), where she is also Chief of the General Internal Medicine Service. She earned a BA in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania and her MD from Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons and completed internship and residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Prior to her role at MSKCC, Dr. Korenstein was Editor-in-Chief of ACP Smart Medicine, an evidence-based clinical decision support tool, and the founding director of the Primary Care Residency Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her main academic efforts, in both education and research, have concerned high value physician decision making with research activities encompassing both educational and health services research. Specifically, she has focused her educational efforts around evidence-based medicine and high-value care and has performed research in the areas of overuse of medical services and the impact of conflicts of interest. She has worked with national organizations including the ABIM Foundation, the American College of Physicians, and the Lown Institute to advance the study of overuse and to foster healthcare value and has been deeply involved in national campaigns including the Choosing Wisely campaign.
Steven Martin is an internist with a long history of interest in graduate medical education. He has been teaching medical students and residents throughout his career the Univ. of Michigan, Univ. of Pennsylvania, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and at Memorial Sloan Kettering. He has taught epidemiology and biostatistics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and at the City University of New York.
Dr. Kumar is an internist specializing in the care of patients with gastrointestinal malignancies while they are in the hospital. She works on the General Internal Medicine Service with transitional year interns providing care for patients with general medical problems. She is the assistant director of quality improvement for the Division of General Medicine.
I am a medical oncologist working in Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Urgent Care Center, which provides specialized care for patients with medical emergencies related to cancer and its treatment.
Dr. Chung is an assistant attending on the Hospital Medicine Service in the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Glezerman is a nephrologist with a special interest in kidney diseases associated with cancer or brought on by cancer therapies. He is a member of the onco-nephrology forum of American Society of Nephrology. This forum is an advisory group for general nephrologists to help them treat patients with cancer who develop concomitant kidney problems. It is also a forum for other nephrologists with special interest in cancer associated kidney diseases to exchange ideas and collaborate on research. His research interests include identification, characterization and treatment of kidney-related side effects of conventional as well as new targeted cancer therapies. He is also interested in early detection fo chemotherapy-induced acute kidney injury using novel urine biomarkers.
Dr. Sidlow is a board-certified general internist and palliative medicine physician and an associate professor of Clinical Medicine. Before joining Memorial Sloan Kettering, he served in a variety of hospital administrative and leadership roles, including Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Vice Chairman of Medicine, and Chief of Palliative Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and the North Bronx Healthcare Network. His academic interests span the areas of quality improvement and patient safety, end-of-life care, the use of information technology in clinical decision-making, and medical education.
Dr. Goring is a board-certified specialist in internal medicine and an academic hospitalist at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She currently focuses on the care of patients with gastrointestinal malignancies and is responsible for coordinating their clinical care and management from their admission to the inpatient medical ward until they leave the hospital. She is also interested in hospital quality initiatives as well as palliative care and hospice medicine. She currently serves as associate director of the residency program for rotating house staff.
