What is a Locum Tenens?


Wikipedia defines a "Locum Physician" as "a physician who works in the place of the regular physician when that physician is absent, or when a hospital/practice is short-staffed". Easy enough concept to understand, but what is the experience like for the physician? In this discussion we have a panel of physicians who have worked on a variety of locum tenens in different locations around the country, in different practice settings and with different patient populations.
