Rebecca Gruchalla, M.D., Ph.D. leads the divisions of allergy and immunology in the departments of internal medicine and pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She has conducted research in the areas of immunological tolerance (Ph.D. dissertation) and drug allergy and, currently, she conducts clinical pediatric asthma research as part of the National Institutes of Health-funded Inner City Asthma Consortium.
Dr. Gruchalla received her Ph.D. and M.D. from UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. After completing internal medicine training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and allergy and immunology training at UT Southwestern, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty. Dr. Gruchalla is professor of medicine and pediatrics and she holds the Dr. William A. and Joyce M. Sellars Distinguished Chair in Allergy and Immunology. She has served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology as well as on the editorial board of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Gruchalla has published numerous articles in the areas of drug allergy and pediatric asthma.
