Karly Hampshire is a fourth year medical student at the University of California San Francisco applying into internal medicine. She is the Founder and Co-Director of the Planetary Health Report Card Initiative.
Emaline is an intern in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital whose work focuses on climate change and health equity. During medical school, she co-wrote and implemented Emory’s disseminated Climate Change and Environmental Health curriculum for the preclinical years of medical school, one of the first curriculums of its kind in US medical schools. She also co-founded a student group, Medical Students for Climate Action, dedicated to furthering climate and health education, environmental justice, and healthcare sustainability within their Atlanta community. She coupled this work with four years volunteering with Mercy Care and co-coordinating their Street Medicine team, providing care and working with those experiencing homelessness.
Prior to medical school, Emaline worked with a range of organizations from Partners In Health and The Task Force for Global Health to the Nepal Cleft and Burn Center and WHO’s Global Task Force on Cholera Control. She also holds an MSc in Epidemiology from The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and an MSc in Medical Anthropology from the University of Oxford made possible with the support of the Marshall Scholarship.
