Lauren Feld is a Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago. She received her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, as part of the Humanities in Medicine program. She plans to pursue gastroenterology fellowship and become a transplant hepatologist. Her research has focused on access to care for underserved patients, supporting caregivers during the liver transplant process, and physician and trainee wellbeing. She grew up in Seattle, and enjoys hiking, climbing and travel.
Dr. Ian Fanoga Frani graduated with a nursing and a medicine degree at University of the Philippines College of Medicine in 2007 and 2012, respectively. He was a previous Managing and Layout Editor of MEDICS The Official Medical Publication of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He did his Internal Medicine Residency at University of Nevada School of Medicine and his Infectious Disease Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center - Tufts University in Boston, focusing on Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection control and Infection Prevention.
He will be working as an Infectious Disease Physician dealing with Antibiotic Stewardship and Infection Control at Hot Springs, Arkansas
Alex Spacht is a 3rd year medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Her research and clinical interests are in quality improvement, care of older adults and access to care for the medically underserved. Prior to medical school she worked in clinic operations optimization as a public sector consultant for the public hospital system in Chicago, which prompted her career change to medicine. Alex graduated from University of Chicago in 2012 and completed her post-baccalaureate education at Bryn Mawr College. Alex grew up in New Hampshire and enjoys hiking, painting, and running with her dog.
