Dr. Utibe Essien is a General Internal Medicine Primary Care and research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on the intersection between race and socioeconomic status on chronic and cardiovascular disease outcomes. As a resident, he co-founded the Social Justice Interest Group and was Chair of Resident and Fellows Committee of the MGH Center for Diversity and Inclusion for which he received the Department of Medicine Allan F. Moore Memorial Award for Community Service Award. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
