    Rebecca Gruchalla, M.D., Ph.D. leads the divisions of allergy and immunology in the departments of internal medicine and pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She has conducted research in the areas of immunological tolerance (Ph.D. dissertation) and drug allergy and, currently, she conducts clinical pediatric asthma research as part of the National Institutes of Health-funded Inner City Asthma Consortium. Dr. Gruchalla received her Ph.D. and M.D. from UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. After completing internal medicine training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and allergy and immunology training at UT Southwestern, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty. Dr. Gruchalla is professor of medicine and pediatrics and she holds the Dr. William A. and Joyce M. Sellars Distinguished Chair in Allergy and Immunology. She has served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology as well as on the editorial board of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Gruchalla has published numerous articles in the areas of drug allergy and pediatric asthma.

    Hugh A. Sampson, MD is the Kurt Hirschhorn Professor of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York and the Director of the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute. In November 2015, he began working part-time (40%) as Chief Scientific Officer for DBV Technologies. Dr. Sampson’s research has focused on food allergic disorders, including basic immunologic mechanisms responsible for these disorders and novel therapeutic strategies to treat them. He is the Principal Investigator on the NIAID-supported Consortium for Food Allergy Research. He has published over 450 articles, 80 book chapters and edited 6 books on clinical and basic immunopathogenic aspects of food allergic disorders, and was elected to membership in the Institute of Medicine in 2003 for his research. Dr. Sampson is past chair of the Section on Allergy & Immunology of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the past-president of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
