    Eva M. Luo is an obstetrics and gynecology resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She is interested in innovations in value-based care delivery, primarily models that arise from the entrepreneurship space and their impact on overall policy. Her primary areas of focus are prenatal care, incorporation of digital health to improve women’s health care delivery, and prenatal diagnostics.  

     

    Eva is a graduate of University of Michigan Medical School and Harvard Business School where she received her MD and MBA degrees. Her leadership and academic work in health systems are highlighted by a year spent as the Special Assistant to Dr. Donald Berwick, then CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, co-leading the University of Michigan’s IHI Open School Chapter, working on the steering committee of the “Check a Box. Save a Life.” global campaign to empower students to implement the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist, spending a summer in Ghana researching the impact of obstetricians on rural district hospitals as a William Davidson Institute Global Impact Fellow, founding a digital health startup called Carewrite to improve the caregiving experience, and additional research projects looking at Time-Driven Activity Based Costing and quality metrics.
