Once You’ve Found the Right Question: How to Take the Next Steps in Research

Asking questions is an integral part of medical practice, and the important first step in any research project. However, getting a research project started, completed, and published or presented during medical school or residency can be difficult! NEJM Resident 360 will host a discussion to help medical students and residents become successful in research— with tips from experts in the field. A few of the topics we plan to cover:

  • How do I transition from a great idea to a practical question?
  • How do I find a good research mentor?
  • What happens when the results aren’t what I anticipated?
  • When should I start outlining my manuscript?
  • What do I do when an article or my abstract gets rejected?
  • How do I use social media to highlight my research projects?
