  • Shara Feld, PhD is a third year medical student at the University of Wisconsin who completed a PhD in engineering at the University of Washington prior to attending medical school.  She is combining her engineering background with healthcare through research in medical informatics to aid clinical decision making and has presented on large-scale data analysis at national meetings. www.sharafeld.com

    Anthony Lewis, MD is originally from Lubbock, TX.  He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.  Following this, he attended the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine where he earned his MD.  He is currently a general surgery resident at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA, and is currently in the third year of a research fellowship.  His clinical interests include general surgery, trauma, critical care, and acute care surgery.  His research interests include development of novel therapies in the treatment of sepsis and hemorrhagic shock, with a special interest in translation of pre-clinical model findings to the clinical realm.  Following residency and research training he plans to pursue a clinical fellowship in surgical critical care.
