Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Farrah L. Harden, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Tuskegee University in 2005. Following her undergraduate studies, her interest in medical research led her to complete a two year research fellowship at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Her subsequent interest in pursuing a career in medicine led her to preparatory studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and ultimately to the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where she graduated with her M.D. in May of 2015 and where she matched into Internal Medicine categorical residency program. She is currently a PGY-1 resident.
A passion for medical education and social media, Farrah is actively involved in a variety of established professional platforms. She currently functions as Social Media Strategist for Louisville Lectures, a novel Free Open Access Medical Education platform exclusively developed by the department of Internal Medicine at University of Louisville School of Medicine. Additionally, she runs her own social media blog called TheVogueMD, a platform established in 2014 which exposes premedical and medical students to her life as a Resident Physician through pictures and question/answer sessions via #SocialMedMondays. Her other projects in progress involve establishing opportunities both locally and nationally to influence mentoring, medical, and resident education.
In her spare time, Farrah enjoys fashion and design, artistic events, blogging, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
