Here’s what some current and previous fellows have to say about their experiences as NEJM editorial fellows:

  • Dr. Mridula Nadamuni (2022–23 fellow) was interviewed about her fellowship experience here.

  • Dr. Roma Bhatia (2021–22 fellow) discussed her fellowship experience with NEJM Editor-in-Chief in this podcast.

  • Drs. Angela Chen, Angela Castellanos, and Amanda Fernandes (2018–19 fellows) reflected on their year as editorial fellows in this podcast.

  • Dr. Ramya Ramaswami (2016–17 fellow) spoke about her experience in this video message.

  • Dr. Robert Smyth (2022–23 fellow) wrote: “Working as an editorial fellow at NEJM after completing my pulmonary and critical care fellowship gave me an opportunity to explore medicine in a new way. Attending weekly editorial meetings allowed a unique insight into how clinical research is conducted and critically appraised. Evaluating clinical images refreshed and improved by knowledge of internal medicine and writing for NEJM Resident 360 taught me how to develop research summaries in the context of current clinical practice. Whether you’re primarily interested in clinical research, resident education or medical writing, this editorial fellowship will allow you to develop your skillset and learn new ones.”
